Remember the Tomy Turnin' Turbo Dashboard?
My childhood memory was filled with tuning the keys of my fire engine red 930 Turbo and taking an imaginary drive down a deserted stretch of road at night. With trees whooshing by the side of the road, I can choose my own pace and cruise on the right lane, or spiritedly carve all the corners and hit all the apex. When I ran out of gas, I reset the odometer and go for another drive. It was pure driving bliss for a 4 year old.
As cars become more bloated and sedated with technology over the last 30 years, so has the Turbo Dashboard.
May I present the 2015 !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! !

The first thing you'll notice is that there's a new colour screen on the center. Instead of the calming night drive, your child will instead navigate the stressful urban sprawl in a bright red crossover ... looking ... thing...
Gone is the 4-speed lever and winding roads. What your child will get instead is a 2-speed box and a set of 6 destination cards which give a voice navigation to the chosen destination...
I can already imagine kids getting frustrated and walking away when that annoying "Recalculating route..." emits from the dashboard as they miss the turn to the zoo for the third time.
I wanted a revival of the Turbo Dashbaord, but not like this ...

The "grill" of this "car" reminds me of a random/crazy/bad idea I had around 2009, to give Hummer a version of the AWD Zeta platform and let them make some crazy off road sports car thing out of it, LS engine and everything
What a random/crazy/bad vehicle that would have been.

Why can't we get the original back? I love that it had a functional digital tach and all.

See? Back then we played with this and it nourished our imagination. Give this to a kid now and he'll be like ".....where the ipad in this? What's the point?", saddens me.
